Lasik surgery is a viable alternative to glasses and contacts. Technology and surgical technique have improved through the years making lasik a safe and effective option. If you're contemplating lasik surgery, please talk to one of our doctors or staff members. We can provide the preoperative work up, surgical referral, and postoperative care here at our office. We'll be happy to answer any questions and let you know if you are a candidate for surgery.
Diagnostic Testing - OCT
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is useful in diagnosing many eye conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. In addition, OCT is often used to evaluate disorders of the optic nerve. The optic nerve is made up of many nerve fibers and sends signals from your retina to your brain, where these signals are interpreted as the images you see. The OCT exam is helpful in determining changes to the fibers of the optic nerve, such as those caused by glaucoma.
Optos Retinal Imaging
While eye exams generally include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, a thorough screening of the retina is critical to verify that your eye is healthy. This can lead to early detection of common diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration, and even cancer. The exam is quick, painless, and may not require dilation drops.
